Well-known Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has announced that he has embraced Islam.
He said he changed his name to Shuhada.
He is best known for his song “Nothing Compares to You”, released in the 1990s. This song was on the list of most hit songs of the year.
In a message on Twitter, he thanked other Muslims for helping him.
He said his decision was “a natural consequence of any intelligent theologian’s visit”.
He has released a video of himself, which appears to be Azan.
Thursday Sheikh said. An Irish imam named Omar al-Qadri posted a video. In that video it is seen that singer Sinead O’Connor is studying kalima for believing in Islam.
The Irish singer added in a Twitter message that all the theology studies were ultimately converted to Islam.
He says that he is proud to be a Muslim.
However, this is not the first time O’Connor has spoken about religion. At the age of 12, he was born into a controversy over a US television live broadcast by tearing down the Pope’s image.
Seven years later, a church that had been alienated from the mainstream declared him a priest. However, since the Catholic Church does not allow women to be priests, they did not approve of it.
Last year, however, Sinead O’Connor legally changed his name and renamed Magda Dwight.
